I was skipping anime EDs for 5 years until a friend called me out

Was binging Paranoia Agent last week and my buddy goes "dude you're missing the whole vibe" because I kept skipping the credits. Now I sit through every ending and I've caught some killer tracks plus those post-credits scenes I never knew existed. Has anyone else found hidden stuff by not skipping?

Start sitting through grocery store self-checkouts too instead of always using the express lane. Same kind of thing - you miss weird little interactions or even find a dropped coupon you'd never notice if you just rushed through. People get so focused on getting to the end of things they skip the parts that actually make the experience worthwhile. I've started making myself stick around for stuff I usually skip and it's wild how much random good stuff pops up.

dude you're missing the whole vibe" has to be the most backhanded compliment ever, like sorry I was trying to get to the plot faster... but okay. I get what you're saying about the self-checkout thing though, that's a whole different level of patience I don't have. My ADHD brain would probably stand there staring at the coupon machine for ten minutes then forget what I even came for. So congrats on becoming one of those people who actually reads the fine print on life I guess... maybe I'll try it with my coffee tomorrow and actually enjoy the cup instead of chugging it.
