Overheard a guy at the con say he skips the first 12 episodes of One Piece
He claimed the pacing gets better if you start at Arlong Park, and honestly after trying it I got hooked way faster than when I started from episode 1. Has anyone else tried skipping ahead like that or does it mess with the story too much?

Skip 12 episodes? That's like skipping the appetizer because the main course looks better. Might as well skip to the credits while you're at it.
