Customer's dog locked me out on a $180 dryer job in Akron, had to call her at work
Was swapping a heating element in a Whirlpool dryer in Akron on Tuesday when the lady's pit bull nosed the storm door shut behind me, and the lock was one of those old twist knobs. I stood on the porch for 20 minutes with the dryer half apart and my meter still inside. Ended up calling her at the nursing home where she works, and she had to get a neighbor to come let me back in. She laughed about it, but I still ate the extra 30 minutes off my bill. Any of you keep a spare key policy or just learn to check the door before you go in?
Did the storm door swing out or in? If it swings out you can usually jam a screwdriver in the gap and pop the latch, but if it swings in you're stuck standing there like a fool. Twenty minutes on the porch with the meter humming inside, man that stings.
