I finally gave in and painted my kitchen cabinets... and it was the worst weekend of my life.

That "Cabinet Coat" paint is notorious for going on thick and lumpy.

6 month old driveway in Nashville finally showed its true color after a good rain

Guess I'll just hose off my driveway every Tuesday then.

Discovered a way to dry out wet boots overnight without ruining them

Hang on, let me tell you something about that campfire method. I tried it once in my backyard and the smoke smell stuck to my clothes for three days straight. A fan might seem like a gimmick but it actually moves that hot air away from you instead of just letting it rise and settle. If you ever get stuck in a room with no windows, you'll be begging for even a cheap desk fan to push that stale air out.

Spent $150 on a cheap tile saw and got exactly what I paid for

Yeah, I used to be the guy who'd argue that cheap tools get the job done too. But @ericfox you're spot on, my $90 saw caught fire on the fourth cut and I had to borrow a neighbor's. Not worth the money saved when you're redoing half the work anyway.

Heard a founder say 'we don't fix bugs on Fridays' and it clicked for me

Nah, I gotta disagree here. Some of us choose that life because we actually care about the people using what we built. If a critical bug is keeping someone from doing their job at 2am, I'd rather get a call than have them stew on it all night. It's not about being a martyr, it's about taking pride in your work. You set boundaries like rotating shifts or having an escalation system so it's not one person burning out. But writing off round the clock support as unsustainable? That's how you end up with software that breaks on weekends and nobody gives a damn.
