That massive elm in the alley took me 6 hours longer than I budgeted
I figured a 60 foot dead elm would be a half day job tops. Get in, rig it down, chunk it out, stump grind, done by 1pm. Nope. The trunk had this weird internal rot that made the wood unpredictable. Every piece I cut wanted to split or hang up on the way down. Had to stop and re-rig three separate times because my rope placements kept slicing into bad wood. By the time I got the last log on the truck, it was almost dark. I should have just quoted for a full day and saved myself the headache. Has anyone else had a tree fight back like that for no good reason?

It's always the jobs you think will be easy that turn into a nightmare.

A hundred and seventy two screws. That's how many they had me count out for a single cabinet handle job. Sounds simple enough but three of them were stripped and I spent an hour driving back to the hardware store. So yeah, the easy stuff always finds a way to bite you.
