I thought my landlord was scamming me on the $75 water bill, then I saw the meter at 2am

I was ready to fight my landlord over a $75 water bill that was double what I normally pay, and I had a whole speech planned about the leaky toilet I reported back in April. Then I sat up watching the meter spin at 2am with everything off, and it turned out to be an underground leak on the city's side of the line that they credited me for. Has anyone else caught a water leak by just staring at the meter at night, or am I the only one weird enough to do that?
