The 2018 tailgate party that made me ditch disposable plates

Back in 2018 we hosted a big tailgate outside Arrowhead Stadium and used those cheap plastic plates the whole time. This year I dug out some ceramic ones from my grandparents' place in Topeka and noticed the food stayed hotter and the cleanup was way easier, no weird grease pooling on the plates. It took me six years to realize the cheap stuff was actually making the food taste worse because of the chemical smell. Has anyone else switched to real plates for outdoor events and noticed a difference?

Adding the real plates also kills the whole "why bother" argument once you see how much less trash you're hauling out. Plus you can repurpose the ceramic ones for a mini buffet back at camp if leftovers survive, which mine never do.
