Notice how often this happens now, like everyone's walking around ready to burst. Makes you wonder if people are just that lonely these days, waiting for any open door to drop their baggage. We gotta find a way to be kind without getting stuck listening forever.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I asked my cousin how work was going at her own wedding. Forty minutes later I knew about her boss's bad back and the new office coffee maker. GraySullivan has a point about it being real talk, but there's a time and a place, you know? I was just trying to get to the buffet.

Really though, is that the worst way a party conversation can go? At least you know they're being real with you. Sometimes people just need to let that stuff out, and a simple question is all it takes. Better than talking about the weather for an hour, right? Couldn't it just be someone having a rough week?
