Just realized how much a good paralegal is worth

Had a case in Missouri last year where I was fighting a trucking company over a cargo claim. My paralegal found a 3 year old email from their dispatcher. It contradicted everything they said in court. Saved me about 12 grand on that one. Was at a diner in Joplin when she called me with the news. Made me think, has anyone else had a support staff member totally change the outcome of a case?

Never underestimate a sharp paralegal. Give them room to dig and they'll save you every time.

@ericfox nailed it. That email find is exactly what I mean. A good paralegal digs deeper than you expect. That diner call was worth more than most billable hours I've billed that month. Lets the rest of us focus on the big picture.
