What's the name of that ridge route? I took the high line over Texas Pass once (which was a real "why is my pack so heavy" moment for me), and the scramble up to the shoulder of Warbonnet Peak is another good one if you don't mind a little exposure.

Honestly the duct tape method is kind of genius, makes you wonder how many great shots are out there just waiting for some simple DIY fixes. @umabailey probably gets better results than folks with ten grand in gear who overthink everything. Totally get the one pen thing, it's a game changer. But I have to say, the Pilot G2 is a solid pen but it smears like crazy if you're left handed. That was my big lesson. Switched to a Uniball Jetstream and it dries instantly, no more gray hand. Sometimes the perfect tool depends on your own weird habits.
