I finally figured out how to handle noisy grocery stores

Last month I started wearing loop earplugs to the supermarket and it cut the overwhelm way down. I can still hear the checkout beeps but the buzzing lights and kids yelling just fade out. Has anyone else tried earplugs for sensory overload?

Wait, are you telling me I didn't have to just suffer through the bright lights and screaming kids for 30 years? I feel like an idiot, I've been using my earbuds to blast podcasts at full volume just to drown it out.

Honestly same thing happened to me. Took me way too long to realize there's actual glasses with blue light blocking and tinted lenses that cut the harshness. Grabbed a pair of Flak Jacket style sunglasses from a brand called Blocies, they're not expensive like $30 on Amazon. They have a slight amber tint that makes everything less harsh without being too dark to see. Also started wearing a hat with a brim to block the overhead lights, game changer. Seriously just grab some cheap tinted glasses and a baseball cap, you'll wonder why you waited so long.
