I just found out autism rates in adults went up way more than I thought

Honestly, I was reading through a CDC report from last month and it said like 1 in 36 kids are diagnosed now, but I never stopped to think about adults. Turns out they started tracking adult diagnoses in 2017 and the number of adults who got diagnosed after 40 has tripled since then. I'm 52 and only got my own diagnosis two years ago, so this hit close to home. It made me wonder how many people my age are walking around without knowing why things felt so hard. Did anyone else find out their diagnosis late and then look up these stats and feel weirdly validated? Just curious if that's a common thing in this group.
