PSA: Visual schedules saved me from daily meltdowns
I was having 3-4 meltdowns a week because transitions were SO hard. My therapist suggested a simple picture schedule on the wall for morning and evening routines. After 2 weeks of using it with my 8 year old son who is also autistic, the meltdowns dropped to almost zero. Has anyone else tried a visual schedule for adults not just kids?

Oh wow, visual schedules are a game changer for adults too, not just kids. I actually made one for myself a few years back when I was drowning in chores and work deadlines. It's a simple laminated chart with icons for each block of my day, from morning coffee to shutting down my laptop. My husband thought I was nuts until he realized I wasn't melting down over forgotten appointments anymore. The key is keeping it simple and putting it where you'll actually see it, like on the fridge or by your desk.

That's wonderful it helped your son so much, consistency really does make a world of difference.
