Bought a cheap paint gun off Amazon, thought it would be junk for sure
Grabbed a $45 HVLP kit for a quick bumper job on a Civic last month, figured I'd toss it after one use. Thing laid down two even coats with zero orange peel, I was honestly ticked off I didn't trash it sooner. Has anyone else had a budget gun surprise them like that?

Did you ever feel like you were almost rooting for the cheap gun to fail just so you could feel justified in spending more on a name brand one? lol I was totally that guy, I used to think anything under a hundred bucks was basically a toy for people who didn't know any better. But after seeing stuff like this, and hearing about your friend's Harbor Freight find, I'm honestly rethinking my whole stance. It's weird how sometimes the junk you buy on a whim ends up outperforming the stuff you actually researched for hours. Guess it just goes to show that price tags don't always tell the whole story, especially with all these cheap imports getting better every year.

Buddy of mine grabbed a $30 gun from Harbor Freight for a dirt track car he was piecing together. He figured it would be good for maybe one panel before it clogged up and went in the trash. That thing sprayed three whole cars before he finally replaced it because the cup started leaking, not even because the gun itself died. He still talks about it like it some kind of miracle tool, swears he'll never buy a name brand gun again.
