Clearcoat peal on a 2018 Silverado took me 3 days, wish I'd known this sooner

Picked up a Silverado from a dealer lot that had clearcoat failure starting on the hood and one fender. I figured it was a weekend job, but the panel prep ate up a full day because the old clear was flaking in patches and keeping the featheredge straight was brutal. Turned out I needed to strip the whole panel down to basecoat, not just sand the bad spots, or the new clear would lift within a month. Anyone else run into this on GM trucks from that era, or is it just the ones I keep landing on?
