inMet a guy at Crater Lake who changed how I pack my tent.
Always thought the tent bag was just for storage. Learning to roll it around the poles instead of stuffing it changed the whole game for me. That one tip from a ranger saved so much frustration.

inI was checking out the new Viking Age exhibit in Minneapolis and noticed something weird about a runestone.
Saw a thing about Roman soldiers carving dicks into walls as graffiti. Guess people have always just drawn dumb stuff.

Cast iron steam is a total game changer.

inMy buddy from college in Australia told me their 'hate speech' laws would stop online fights. I thought he was nuts.
Funny enough, the plumbing code has a lot of rules that seem annoying until you realize they stop people's basements from flooding. Maybe some speech rules are like that, a basic safety thing for the public square. The trick is who writes the code and if they ever update it for new problems.

inMy grandma insisted I use a wooden spoon for cookie dough, but my stand mixer gives me better results every time.
Wait, did she ever say WHY the wooden spoon was so important? Okay, the wooden spoon thing is a total MYTH. It's not about the tool, it's about not over mixing the flour. A stand mixer on low is actually GENTLER than most people mixing by hand. Your grandma probably had a heavy hand. Denver's altitude is the real cookie killer, not your mixer. Good on you for finding what works.
