Just finished a 2008 Civic quarter panel that fought me for 11 hours straight

The factory seam sealer under the old panel was like concrete and my air chisel just bounced off until I switched to a Milwaukee M18 cutoff tool and went real slow, has anyone found a better way to deal with that stuff?

My buddy's shop swears by heating the old sealer with a torch first. They say it softens up just enough to scrape without wrecking the good metal underneath. I haven't tried it myself but I'm tempted after my last fight with a Corolla.

My heat gun on low works better than a torch.

But what's the actual risk of warping the panel if you get it too hot?
