Just realized the cheap mixing nozzles were costing me double

I bought a box of 20 generic 2:1 mixing nozzles for $18 at a swap meet in Phoenix last month. First repair, the plastic cracked mid-spread on a quarter panel and I wasted a full $40 cartridge of primer. Went back to the 3M ones I normally use, $2.50 each, and it laid down smooth as glass. Anyone else had luck with those off-brand tips or is it just me being stubborn about cost?

Plastic cracked mid-spread" sounds like user error more than anything, honestly. I've used those cheap swap meet tips before and yeah, they're flimsy, but I've also had $40 cartridges ruined by operator error with the fancy ones. You're probably not being stubborn about cost, you're just unlucky or the plastic got too cold sitting in the sun. Either way, a $2.50 tip that works beats an $18 box that doesn't, but I wouldn't call it a conspiracy against cheap parts. Maybe test one before you commit the good primer to it next time.
