Rant: Spent $400 on a paint booth rental that had a dirty intake filter and ruined my whole job

Showed up to a booth in Detroit last Thursday, didn't spot the nasty filter until after I sprayed a metallic silver on a 2018 F-150, and now I've got dust nibs all through the clear coat plus lost the whole day sanding it back down - anyone else run into sketchy rental booths that waste your money?

Oh man, didn't you check the filter right when you walked in? I learned that one the hard way. Rented a booth in Toledo last spring and the intake was so caked with dust it looked like a felt couch pillow. Sprayed a pearl white on a Mustang and ended up with little black specks all through the base coat. Had to wet sand the whole damn thing bare and start over, which cost me another whole day and a can of paint. Sketchy rental booths are the worst, I feel your pain on that $400 burn.

Doesn't it feel like paying extra just means you get the same old problems?
