Went with the cheap primer gun, paid for it on a Mercedes bumper

Had to grab a new primer gun last month and stood there comparing the $89 special against the $240 one. Picked the cheap one because I figured it was just primer, not like it needed to be perfect. First job was a 2019 Mercedes rear bumper and man, that thing spattered like crazy. Orange peel everywhere, had to sand it all down and hit it again with a rental gun from the shop down the road. Cost me 3 hours and the customer saw me redo it. Anyone else ever cheap out on a tool and instantly regret it? What do you actually refuse to buy budget versions of now?

Did the cheap gun come with a free bag of sadness and wasted time, or was that extra? I've learned that lesson too, now I only buy cheap when I hate the car.
