Dropped $180 on a dyno tune for my 2016 Mustang GT and lost 12 horsepower
Took my car to a shop in Phoenix last month for a dyno tune after I added a cold air intake and catback exhaust. Everyone on the forums swore I'd pick up 20 to 30 wheel horsepower with a custom tune, so I paid the $180 and waited around for three hours. When they handed me the sheet, the car actually made 12 less horsepower than my baseline pull from the week before. Turns out the intake was pulling hot air from the engine bay and the tune was fighting it the whole time, so I basically paid to make my car slower. Has anyone else run into a mod that sounded great on paper but made things worse on the dyno?
