My shop's old OBD2 scanner finally gave up after 9 years

Last Tuesday I plugged it into a 2018 F-150 and the screen just went black. Tried swapping the fuse, checked the cable, nothing. I've had that thing since I started at this shop back in 2016 and it's been through way worse. I'm looking at replacements now, but a lot of the new ones seem to have subscriptions or require a phone app. Has anyone found a solid standalone unit that doesn't need a monthly plan?
