A customer brought in a 2012 Civic with a stuck caliper bolt, I snapped my last 14mm bit, and ended up holding the bracket with a zip tie while my coworker torqued it from underneath, has anyone else MacGyvered something just to make it to closing time?

The real fix is that zip tie probably outlasted the original bolt, since Honda caliper brackets love to seize up every single winter. But nobody talks about the hidden cost of these hacks, which is the 45 minutes of arguing with your coworker about who gets to claim the victory when it holds. I once did a similar trick with a wire coat hanger on a Subaru and the customer paid extra for "custom engineering" on the invoice, so you might as well upsell it as a feature next time.
