Paid $1,150 to ship my Civic from Phoenix to Seattle and it showed up 9 days late with a dead battery
I moved for a new job last month and hired a broker to haul my 2016 Civic about 1,400 miles from Phoenix up to Seattle. The quote was $1,150 and the guy on the phone promised pickup within 3 days and delivery in 5. Pickup slipped to day 6, and then the car sat somewhere in Oregon for almost a week with no update. When it finally got here it had a dead battery and 40 extra miles on the odometer, which nobody could explain. I get that drivers juggle routes, but the communication was zero the whole time and I was borrowing my sister's car for over a week. Has anyone had luck going straight to a carrier instead of a broker, and did the price end up close to the quote?
