Just realized 2-factor authentication isn't as annoying as I thought

I used to skip 2FA on everything because I hated typing in a code every time I logged in lol. But after my debit card got cloned at a gas station in Columbus last fall, I finally turned it on for my banking apps. The security alerts from my credit union showed someone tried to access my account 3 times in one day. Now I don't mind the extra 10 seconds, and I actually feel safer checking my balance on public wifi. Anyone else have a similar wake-up call about security settings?

Glad to hear that was the wake-up call you needed, it's scary how fast things can go south with cloned cards. Did the credit union help you get everything sorted out okay?

It's wild how trusting technology has made us all so careless without even realizing it.
