My bank's fraud alert system went from 'sleeping bear' to 'overcaffeinated squirrel' in about six months
Last fall, I tried to buy a plane ticket to Denver for $450 and got zero alerts. Fast forward to last week, I bought a $12 sandwich at a deli three towns over from my house and my phone blew up with three texts, an email, and an app notification asking if it was really me. The change is wild. I called them and the guy said they rolled out a new AI system that tracks 'spending velocity' and location data way more closely. Now it flags anything outside my 'usual pattern,' which apparently includes a turkey club on a Tuesday. It's good for safety, sure, but I miss the days when a big purchase was the only thing that set it off. Has anyone else's bank gotten this jumpy lately, and is there a way to calm it down without turning alerts off completely?

Yeah, everything's getting weirdly overprotective lately.

Got any examples in mind? I mean, it feels like you can't say anything these days without someone getting upset.
