My credit union teller warned me about a 3 day hold on a $900 check, and she was spot on
I deposited a $900 check from a side gig at my credit union in Aurora last month, and the teller told me not to count on the money clearing for 3 days because it was from an out of state bank. I ignored her and scheduled my car payment anyway, which bounced and cost me a $35 fee plus a $25 late charge from the lender. Does anyone know if there's a way to get a bank to release part of a check early, or am I just stuck waiting it out every time?
