Small bank ATM fees surprised me more than the big ones
I was helping my aunt move her accounts last month and we hit three different ATMs around Columbus to avoid fees. Turns out the tiny local credit union she was leaving charges $3.50 for out-of-network withdrawals, which is worse than the big national bank down the road. I read the fee disclosure on their website after we got home and it was buried on page four of the PDF. Has anyone else noticed smaller institutions quietly bumping up these charges to compete?
