Update: my bank froze my card over a $12 charge at a truck stop in Amarillo
Two weeks ago I bought a sandwich and coffee at a TA in Amarillo and my card got declined, then the fraud line kept me on hold for 51 minutes before a rep unlocked it. Turns out their system flagged the $12 charge because I had just fueled up in Oklahoma two hours earlier, and getting it fixed took three calls across two days. Has anyone found a faster way to clear a freeze like that, or do I just need to carry two cards on every run now?

My truck stop sandwich just cost me two days of my life, so your $12 freeze sounds about right.
