The day I got banned from a neighborhood Facebook group for pointing out pothole math

I live in Buffalo and our streets are basically craters. Some guy posted about how the city just resurfaced Elmwood Avenue and it was a waste because winter would destroy it anyway. I replied that if they spent $12,000 on proper base prep instead of $4,000 on patch jobs, the road would last 5 years not 1 winter. The admin deleted my comment and banned me because I was being 'negative about local efforts.' I even had the city budget PDF from last July to back it up. So now I just drop the same info as a screenshot on the Buffalo Freecycle page instead. Has anyone else gotten blocked from a local group for stating simple facts?

Buffalo's roads are a mess but calling out volunteers isn't going to fix anything.

Used to roll my eyes at the volunteer snow crews around here. Figured it was just people looking for attention on social media. But after last winter when my whole block was buried for three days and a group of kids with shovels showed up before the plows did, I changed my tune fast. @joseph_coleman is right that complaining about volunteers doesn't fix potholes or plow schedules. Those folks are out there doing what the city can't or won't, and calling them out just makes the problem worse.
