Got banned from a gaming sub for correcting a guy's math on player counts

I hopped into a thread on a popular gaming subreddit where some dude claimed a game had 50 million active players. I did a quick search and found the actual monthly stats from the devs were closer to 2 million, so I posted a link. He got super defensive and started calling me a shill for the company, then reported me for harassment. The mods banned me for 3 days citing 'targeted behavior' even though I just shared numbers. I tried appealing but they said I was 'antagonizing' him by providing proof. Has anyone else gotten hit for just using basic facts?

Three day ban over some player numbers seems like a pretty minor thing to get worked up about.

You ever actually been temp banned for something that vague, @martin.vera? I got hit with a three day once for saying a mod was "being a little too strict" on some roster talk. Felt like a joke at first, but then I had to actually sit out three days of trade deadline chatter. Next time you see one of those bans, just take a deep breath and don't engage with the mods about it. They'll ban you again for "arguing the point" if you try to appeal.
