Why does nobody talk about ban appeals that go ignored?

I got banned from a forum for a comment on housing prices. My appeal went unanswered for nearly a year. Does anyone ever get a response from mods?

What if it's not just mod laziness but the whole forum is basically dead? I've seen places where the staff team quietly left or the site owner stopped paying for proper mod tools. Your appeal might be sitting in an inbox nobody checks because the last active admin logged off in 2022. It becomes less of a ban and more like your message got lost in a ghost town.

Honestly it's the same reason you see half-finished construction sites or shops that close with no sign. People walk away from stuff without closing it out properly, and that lack of care just leaves things hanging. Your appeal is probably just another thing left in a pile nobody plans to deal with.
