I was at a library talk in Springfield about internet culture when the presenter's slide of a 'Pepe the Frog' meme got a city official to walk out.

Saw something about this online where people were saying the official overreacted. Honestly, it's just a cartoon frog from my old internet days. The whole thing got twisted way out of shape by some bad groups later on. But walking out of a talk seems like missing the point of the discussion. If you're there to learn about internet culture, you gotta be ready to see the messy parts too. Getting upset at a picture on a slide doesn't help anyone understand anything.
