Showerthought: Found out from a former mod that Reddit bans memes faster on weekdays than weekends
I was chatting with this guy on Discord last Thursday who used to moderate for a big subreddit. He told me the moderation team actually has a schedule where they clear out banned memes way more strictly Monday through Friday. Like they have quotas or something. He showed me an old spreadsheet they used to track how many posts they removed per day. The stats were wild - weekends had like 40% less enforcement. Made me wonder if the whole free speech thing is just about timing. Has anyone else noticed certain memes popping up more on Saturdays?

Oh man, that spreadsheet detail is killing me. I bet all my best weekend meme posts got taken down on a Tuesday afternoon instead. Probably explains why my Dump Stat Friday post about my own life got removed in 10 minutes flat but the one about a cat falling off a couch lasted three days. Timing is everything I guess, unless you count my timing which has never worked out for anything.

stone.jesse that cat meme thing is SO relatable. I had a video of my dog absolutely losing his mind at a squirrel that was, I swear, mocking him from the fence, and it got flagged for "animal harassment" on a Monday morning at 8:17 AM. Meanwhile, that same weekend, a buddy posted a video of his cat knocking a whole potted plant off a shelf, and the mods just left a comment saying "lol, classic." I really think there's a whole secret shift schedule for Reddit janitors.
