Took me 3 weeks to find out why my meme about a train station clock got banned in Germany
So back in March I made this dumb meme using a photo of the big clock at Hauptbahnhof in Berlin and slapped a caption on it about how the trains are never on time. Posted it to a few groups, got some laughs, and then it got taken down in like 4 hours flat. I figured it was a glitch, posted it again, banned again. It took me almost 3 weeks of digging through forums (and one very patient mod who finally messaged me back in German) to figure out the actual reason. Turns out the clock in the photo showed a specific date and time that lined up with a banned far right rally, total coincidence, I just grabbed a random stock photo. I appealed it with the original file info and got unbanned in 2 days, but the whole thing made me realize how fast a meme can get flagged for something you never even noticed in the picture. Anyone else get hit by a ban over some random detail buried in the background of an image? Like what was it and how long did it take you to figure out?
