Got a zero on a poli sci paper in Columbus for citing a source my prof never approved
Last semester at Ohio State I turned in a 10 page paper on campus free speech zones and pulled one quote from a student op-ed the syllabus never listed as an okay source. My prof gave me a zero and said the source was not academic, even though the op-ed was written by a law professor at a different school. Is it normal for a professor to gatekeep which sources count as real, or did I just get unlucky with who graded it?
