Lol, our campus club's debate night got axed over some mild opinions

Our student paper did a survey last year. Over half the people who skip club events say it's because the topics feel too safe and boring to be worth their time.

See, that's where it gets tricky. Calling them mild opinions is your view, but the club or school might see it differently. There's usually a line with campus events where things can get real uncomfortable for people. Maybe what felt mild to you felt targeted or harsh to someone else.
