The one professor who shut down my Holocaust discussion question

Back in 2019 at a state school in Ohio, I asked my history prof why we weren't covering the role of collaborationist governments in occupied Europe. She got real quiet, then told me the topic was 'too sensitive for a 200-level class.' I pressed her on it after class and she snapped that I was being disruptive. Still bugs me how a college history course can just skip parts of history because they make people uncomfortable. Has anyone else had a teacher dodge a topic like that?

That's honestly wild for a college class lol. Professors who avoid tough topics like that are doing students a disservice.

Keep getting that bugging feeling, @hannah_williams, like an itch you can't scratch. Professors who hide from the hard stuff are basically saying history is just a buffet where you skip the vegetables. Mine once told me the Cold War was "too complicated for undergrads" which is academic code for "I don't want to explain it.
