Just hit my first 50 walk-ins in a month at the shop downtown
Been barbering for about 8 months now and finally got a solid flow of people just wandering in off the street. Most of them were guys from the construction site across the street who said they liked my fade work on their buddy last Tuesday. Any of you guys remember how long it took before walk-ins became regulars?

...my buddy who cuts hair across town said it took him almost a year before walk-ins started turning into regulars, but he also works in a way busier area than me. He had this one guy come in for a quick beard trim like four times before he even asked his name, now that dude comes in every other Friday without fail. Just stick with the good work and they'll start remembering your chair, that's what he told me anyway.

Four times for a beard trim before asking his name, that's kind of wild lol. I mean I get being shy or not wanting to bother someone, but at some point you gotta just say "hey I'm Kevin" or whatever. It's not like you're asking for their life story. A year for walk-ins to turn into regulars sounds about right though, that's a solid grind. Just don't overthink the name thing, people usually appreciate when you remember their face before their name anyway. Your buddy's story is solid advice, just keep doing good work and they'll come around.
