Spent $400 on a new clipper and it's a total lemon

Grabbed the new 'Viper Blade' model last month, thinking it would be a game changer for fades. Motor gets way too hot after two cuts, starts pulling hair. Now it just sits in my drawer. Anyone have a good heavy-duty clipper that can handle back-to-back appointments without quitting?

My cousin's snake actually escaped and ate his neighbor's hamster last year. That's a $400 paperweight with a body count.
