That Fade Tip From a 19 Year Old Kid Actually Worked
I've been cutting hair for 14 years and never touched a lever mid-fade. Last Tuesday a walk-in kid told me to flick the lever up while going over the C cup, I thought he was messing with me. Tried it on my next client and the blend came out cleaner than I've done in months. Any other old heads picked up tricks from younger barbers that you actually kept using?

…and here I am at 38 still scared to touch that lever because my brain thinks it's gonna mess up the whole cut, but nah, that kid was right. I tried it on a guy with a really tight skin fade yesterday and the blend just fell into place, no rework needed. Honestly felt a little dumb that I'd been fighting that same spot with my trimmers for years when it was one flick away. Now I'm half tempted to ask the next young gun what else they know, though I'm still not gonna let them touch my clippers.
