Swapped from a charcoal chimney to a propane torch for lighting my stick burner last spring
Used to mess around with newspaper and lighter fluid for 20 minutes trying to get my coals going until I watched some old timer at a comp in Kansas light his whole firebox with a weed burner in 45 seconds flat, anyone else ditch the old methods once they saw something faster?

Honestly I used to defend the chimney method like my life depended on it, but then I saw a buddy blast his firebox with a propane torch and had to admit I was wrong. That thing cuts the whole startup time in half.

Blast his firebox with a propane torch" - yeah that's exactly what sold me too. I switched to a small weed burner and never looked back. Way less fuss than messing with newspaper and lighter cubes.
