Got banned from a recipe group for asking about MSG
Last Tuesday I asked if anyone had tried adding MSG to their chili. The admin said I was promoting 'chemical additives' and banned me on the spot. Has anyone else run into food science censorship like this?

Man that’s wild, people get so weird about MSG when it’s literally just sodium and glutamic acid. Sorry you got banned over something so silly.

Are you serious? I used to be one of those people who thought MSG was some kind of scary chemical that would give me headaches. My mom always said it was bad for you so I just believed her. Then like a year ago I saw this video from a food scientist breaking down how it's just a natural salt found in tomatoes and cheese. So I tried it in my stir fry and honestly it was amazing, added this savory depth I couldn't get from regular salt. Now I get so annoyed when people treat it like poison because it's literally just flavor enhancer that's been used for centuries. Sounds like that admin needs to do a little research before banning people over outdated myths.
