My local gardening forum banned me for saying wood chips beat plastic mulch every time

I posted side-by-side photos of my tomato beds after 3 months - the wood chip side had way less weeds and the soil stayed damp longer. The mod said I was 'promoting unsafe gardening practices' and booted me, anyone else get banned for stating basic facts?

Wood chips are dangerous if you're a plastic mulch salesman I guess.
