Binged "The Bear" in 2 days after hating the first episode

I shut it off 15 minutes into episode 1 last month, thought it was just anxiety junk. My friend in Chicago kept pushing me so I gave it another shot. After episode 3 the kitchen chaos started clicking and I couldn't stop. Anyone else have a show that took a second try to get into?

Gave it a second try just like you did with The Office actually. Hated the first season when it first came out, my friends kept saying it gets better. By season 2 I was completely hooked and now I've seen the whole thing like 3 times lmao. The Bear is the same way honestly, the first episode is rough but once you get past it the show really finds its groove. Sometimes you just gotta push through the setup to get to the good stuff lol.

Eva totally nailed it with the Office comparison lol. Actually though, The Bear's pilot is way more intense than The Office's first season. That first episode of The Bear gave me so much anxiety I almost turned it off. The kitchen yelling and chaos felt too real. But @eva_ward88 is right, once you get past that setup it becomes something special. I think it's because the show is trying to show you how broken everything is before they start fixing it. Like you need to feel the mess before you can appreciate the calm moments. Its a different kind of stressful than The Office but both reward you for sticking with the early rough patches.
