Binged 'The Bear' in one weekend and lost my cool over a kitchen scene
I was on my couch in Chicago last Saturday, and that episode where the guy yells about the forks for 5 minutes straight hit me wrong. I paused it and stood up screaming at the TV about how chefs don't act that dramatic. Has anyone else had a show scene just make you snap like that?

Oh come on, "chefs don't act that dramatic"? I mean, have you actually worked in a kitchen in Chicago? Because I have, and that fork scene was basically a Tuesday afternoon for us. The yelling, the obsessing over tiny details, the breaking down over a single piece of prep that's wrong - that's not exaggerated, that's a documentary. Maybe it's just me but I feel like people who've never been in a high pressure kitchen don't get how real that tension is. The show dials it up for TV sure, but the core of that guy losing it over forks is totally honest about the stress chefs live with every shift.

Right? That fork meltdown was tame compared to stuff I've seen in real kitchens.
