That bartender's 2 a.m. show rant still sticks with me

I was at a dive bar in Cleveland about 6 months back, and the bartender saw me glued to my phone. She asked what I was watching, so I said it was some true crime doc. She just laughed and said, "You're missing the point, every show is a love story if you dig deep enough." Then she went on about how the best binges are the ones where you end up rooting for the bad guy. It made me rethink why I pick the stuff I pick, and now I ask people what show made them flip sides. Anyone else had a random stranger change how you watch?

My buddy had this happen at a bar in Austin, he was rewatching Breaking Bad and some guy next to him said he hoped Walt got away with it, and now my friend can't watch a single show without trying to pick the villain's side first.
