Went back to an old show after 5 years and saw it totally different now

I rewatched The Wire last month for the first time since college and man, I missed so much subtext the first go round. My 22 year old self just saw cops and criminals, but now I catch all the stuff about failing institutions and how the system traps people. Has anyone else had a show completely change meaning for them on a rewatch?

My buddy just watched The Office at 30 and finally realized Michael Scott was actually sad.

Did you ever notice how rewatching stuff as an adult hits totally different? It's like you have to live through some of that awkward loneliness yourself before you can really see it. Michael's whole thing about wanting everyone to like him and not knowing how to connect... it's painfully real. The cringe is still there but now it's wrapped up in a sadder feeling.
