inHad a guy at Southgate LRT help me carry groceries up the stairs last Tuesday
Oh man, that's such an Edmonton thing. Next time try catching their eye and giving a quick nod or a "thanks, eh" as you take the bags back - keeps it simple and shows you appreciate it without making a big deal.

inPSA: I was wrong about wireless sensors in older brick buildings
linda's brick garage story hits close to home. My house is basically a fortress of brick. I tried three different wireless sensors for my back door before giving up. Every single one dropped signal within a week. Finally ran a wire myself and I felt like a genius. But then I tripped over the wire twice. Now I look like a clumsy fool every time I walk through that door.

inFor years I never flushed coolant on my old Cummins, now I do it every two years
My neighbor had a 7.3 Powerstroke that ran fine for years on plain green coolant he never changed. Around 200k miles it started blowing heater cores like crazy. By the time he tore into it the passages were so clogged with scale he had to replace the radiator and water pump too.

inSpent 3 hours trying to figure out why my solar panels weren't charging
Walked right into that one, didn't you... yeah, I've done similar stuff. Spent a whole afternoon once trying to figure out why my battery bank wasn't charging, only to realize I forgot to flip the main disconnect switch. Felt like a real genius that day. Least you found the branch before the leaves fell and made it worse.

inThat one tile spacer trick that saved my kitchen backsplash
That 1/4 inch notch tip is gold, I read somewhere that most DIYers go too big on their trowel size and it causes nothing but headaches... I think I saw it on a tile forum actually.
