Guy at the Rockford hammer-in swears by coal, my shop has been on propane for 3 years and I'm starting to wonder
He grabbed my tongs, looked at the scale on them and asked how I get a good soak without a real fire, and now I can't tell if he's right that propane makes lazy forgers or if he's just nostalgic for the smell.

My buddy switched back to coal and his welds got cleaner, but maybe he just likes playing with fire.
